Description

  • Verify content accuracy, ensuring it meets the provided standards.
    • Make possible edits, fixes or suggestions to the data content when needed.
    • Make decisions on contents often with limited information on hand.
    • Report any patterns of issues observed to help improve database and product performance.
    • Test database tools to provide feedback for improving efficiency and accuracy.
    • Work and communicate with cross functional teams.
  • Reviewing and editing content provided from partners to match the style guide and users’ expectations
  • Helping define editorial direction and a compelling visual experience in accordance with the current sports events
  • Verifying accuracy of content and be proactive in strategic coverage planning
  • Helping validate new partners onboarding

Qualifications

  • Native or near-native fluency in English language
    • For Canadian content curation, French/French-Canadian is a must have
  • Significant knowledge of popular sports in North America, as well as a basic knowledge of some international sports
  • Strong search skills (not just “Googling”) combined with a strong sense of good vs. bad information, and the reliability of sources
  • Genuine interest in seeking out finer details about sports: teams, players, sports facts, and tournaments/leagues updates
  • Previous experience with CMS (Content Management System) tool, a plus
  • Strong writing and grammar, as well as previous experience in writing (particularly sports writing) and editing, a plus
  • Design and photography experience a plus
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to handle repetitive tasks
  • Proven ability to maintain motivation and solid focus through many hours of repetitive tasks.
    • Must be highly detail-oriented with ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
    • Sharp problem solving and analytical skills, along with ability to learn from history and actively help errors from reoccurring.
    • Comfortable with navigating ambiguity, with ability to make sound judgment calls
    • Degree not required but preferred
