Vice President of Localization Operations C744 – Texas

Summary: Manages all activities related to the company’s localization service operations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Responsibilities: Manages 1-8 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 8 0 employees in the Interpreting Services, Spoken Language and ASL, Remote Interpreting Services, Translation Services and On-site. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


  • Plans, coordinates, and controls the daily operation of the organization through the organization’s managers.
  • Establishes current and long-range goals, objectives, plans and policies, subject to approval by the President.
  • Dispenses advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans, standards and procedures, consistent with established policies.
  • Reviews operating results of the organization, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
  • Ensures budgets and other prescribed metrics are met and takes action to remedy unfavorable events and trends as they occur
  • Responsible for ensuring operational departments are exceeding company standards on customer service, quality and overall operations
  • Establishes and maintains an effective system of communications throughout the organization.
  • Meets regularly with managers to review operational performance, share best practices and disseminate information on any areas where we have an opportunity for improvement
  • Create and improve upon existing systems and processes which will add value to the organization
  • Responsible for the professional development of Department Managers.
  • Analyzing and interpreting financial metrics and key performance indicators to identify changes which could impact staffing levels, quality of service, revenues, or expenses
  • Meets with organization’s executives to ensure that operations are being executed in accordance with the organization’s policies.
  • Responsible for monitoring management performance, conducting periodic performance reviews, discipline and terminations

Education: Master’s degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • The Localization Vice President of Operations must be a collaborative yet assertive leader who is willing to roll up his/her sleeves in order to drive improvements and growth.
  • He/she must build effective relationships through cross-functional credibility and interactive communication – fostering an environment of continuous improvement, teamwork and innovation.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading/supervising managers and teams ideally in multiple office locations.
  • Thorough understanding of operational and financial principles and practices.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of business and management principles and proven track record in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Ability to develop cross functional relationships and provide guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on service, business, finance and operational related topics
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or on individually-assigned tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where superior time-management and prioritization skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to think laterally.
  • Track record of being able to initiate and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of colleagues.
  • Must be willing to work extensive hours to meet business needs as required
  • Willingness to consider relocation to Texas a plus
