Vendor Manager Translation and Interpretation C54 – US Remote

JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT:
The Vendor Manager is responsible for managing specific vendor activities between the company and its language service partners, they will work with new and existing language service partners to maintain positive relationships. The Vendor Manager will assist with project management, vendor quality management, and will play a key role in the ISO quality initiative.

Duties and Responsibilities:
All of the below functions are essential for this position
• Increase capacity & optionality, decrease dependencies through strategic recruitment and vendor management.
• Build trust between the company and its language service partners. Maintain positive relationships with and provide support to language service partners.
• Source and evaluate candidates in adherence to the approved process. Manage on-boarding of new language service partners
• Negotiate rates with translators, interpreters, language instructors, and language partners.
• Connect with and initiate relationships with potential language service partners globally.
• Drive full-cycle recruitment efforts for translation, interpretation, instruction, transcription, and other language services.
• Maintain working knowledge of recruitment best practices
• Analyze private and public sector client needs to fulfill requests.
• Align volumes with vendor base.
• Analyze, monitor, and manage language service partner budgets.
• Review quality metrics and feedback on language service partners, use discretion and judgment to take action when necessary.
• Identify recruitment/training needs and facilitate strategic development.
• Work closely with Sales and Marketing teams and participate in RFPs and RFIs.
• Provide solutions and resources for new service offerings.
• Educate customers on language services.
• Represent the company at industry events.
• Recommend resources (translation teams, reviewers, interpreters, instructors) to production teams.
• Negotiate buying rates based on project-specific needs as necessary.
• Maintain language service partner information/data in database.
• Lead integration of translation, interpreting, and vendor management databases.
• Lead process automation to increase efficiency.
• Maintain knowledge of the language and translation industry.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelors degree or equivalent
• 5+ years of language related project management and/or vendor management

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
