Localization Program Manager C452 – Palo Alto, CA


The localization team is seeking an experienced manager to lead our Localization Operations
(LocOps) team. In this role, you will own localization tools infrastructure with collaboration with
internationalization engineering and product manager. You’ll also set the vision for our company
localization tools for the years to come. You will act as a liaison between localization
operations team, the internal localization team, cross functional stakeholders, and vendors to
ensure localization tools and processes properly capture all requirements for functionality,
efficiency and scalability. You have technical skills to solve complex problems and can
produce scalable solutions. Relationship management and a collaborative attitude are a must.

*Flexibility to work from our Palo Alto office on Tuesdays & Thursdays, and the
entire team works from home 1 day per week!*
What You’ll Do
– Own and manage our localization tools vision and roadmap with focus on functionality,
scalability and efficiency
– Manage a team of LocOps including (but not limited to): oversight of day-to-day
operations, holding 1:1s & coaching individuals, setting vision & OKRs, handling
resource allocation to optimize for business needs
– Act as the primary localization tools point of contact for all cross-functional
stakeholders related to the LocOps team
– Develop & maintain key relationships with stakeholder managers and leadership
– Proactively lead localization tools-related internal and cross-functional initiatives
– Work closely with localization vendors and ensure compliance to Client’s technical
– Gather requirements from LPgMs (Localization Program Managers) and LMs (Language
Managers) on localization tools and process needs and work with internationalization
engineering and product teams to enable support
– Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, such as Marketing and Help Content
teams, and guide them on how to best integrate their CMSs into the Localization
pipeline and/or improve existing integrations
What You’ll Need
– BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
– 2+ year of people management experience
– 5+ years of localization operations experience in the high-tech industry on the client
– Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, Postman and SQL
– Proven track record in streamlining complex processes and improving workflow
– Good understanding of Localization Program and Language Management roles as well
as day-to-day functions
– Deep understanding of localization and internationalization issues
– Deep understanding the localization requirements of various content types such as UI,
HC, Marketing, & Legal
– Ability to navigate ambiguity, work independently and be able to chart the direction of
– Strong analytical and problem- solving experience, coupled with excellent business
– Great negotiation skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
– Very detail-oriented, quality-focused and proactive
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple
and diverse stakeholders across businesses and leadership levels
– Self-directed – you need to take the initiative in tackling large problems head- on

– Experience using CAT tools as an LPgM/LM to manage our localization pipeline &
workflows (e.g. Memsource, Smartling, Idiom WorldServer, and Trados) is a plus
