About this Role:

This role leads language teams and has management oversight over globally distributed employees, and business relationship oversight over vendors.

This role also liaises with many teams and geo-leaders and must have strong relationship building skills.

This role will provide oversight over on-time delivery and meeting quality metrics.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Language Services program leadership experience
  • People leadership experience
  • Relationship management experience
  • Technical aptitude to assist in troubleshooting issues and communicating requirements
  • Process and technology optimization mind-set with a minimum 5 years’ experience with translation processes and program management
  • Clear and effective communication skills across all levels
  • A degree in Translations or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Attitude and aptitude to be successful in a growing and rapidly changing company and suite of products.
  • 8+ years’ experience in the translation or software industry
  • Experience leading localization teams/programs
  • Strong experience implementing Linguistic Quality processes and metrics
  • The ability to present clearly and confidently to internal and external stakeholders

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Fluency in at least one additional language
  • A plus – Functional knowledge of Human Capital Management (HCM) or Financials business applications or our client’s products

 

As a Regional Language Manager – Asia Pacific, Language Services, you will:

  • Lead and provide support and guidelines to Language PM  for multiple countries and languages
  • Establish and track milestones and deliverables
  • Liaise with LSPs on translation projects and provide real-time feedback
  • Ensure highest linguistic quality of multiple language deliverables
  • Streamline linguistic processes and work closely with Engineering team on requirements to improve automation
  • Manage a healthy balance of resources for internal and external resources
  • Partner with Sales, Consulting, Marketing and other in-market teams
  • Build Customers language communities to improve language quality and resolve issues

About Localization:

The Localization organization handles all localization and translation needs for our client, including its vast product suite, marketing content, documentation, training guides, and many other assets. We allow multinational and single-language customers to have a uniform user experience regardless of where their users are located. Our language offering is nearing 40 languages, with more coming every year. Our team is located across the globe in a highly interconnected and productive environment, taking advantage of many in-house and third-party tools, and utilizing both dedicated translators as well as LSPs.

Language Services leaders own the quality of our Localization deliverable – including management of quality metrics and growing our vendor capability to constantly improve our quality.  This leader role also owns in-market stakeholder relationships as well as customer engagement regarding language quality and feedback.  This function also has financial responsibility and oversight over the vendor language resource quality program.

Additionally, Language Services support the day to day language-specific queries from our vendor channel and mentors our vendors on terminology, style guides and also product testing.
