Business Development Leader – Language Solutions

Responsible for prospecting, strategizing, designing solutions and closing deals for new clients that could benefit from language services in all industry verticals according to the company’s market goals; upselling and cross-selling services to existing clients; assessing and pursuing new opportunities to meet the growth goals of the company; increasing company’s visibility by actively participating in industry related events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 

  • Promote and uphold the Company culture and industry ethics and standards.
  • Serve on the Company Long-Range Strategy Committee
  • Identify and address opportunities to expand language services offering, including preparation of quotes, proposals, and similar responses for GSA and non-GSA opportunities.
  • Participate in the development of business strategies to increase sales.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of the industry by attending conferences, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.
  • Participate in budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing of our language services from a sales standpoint.
  • Develop and execute sales and marketing plans to achieve established revenue targets.
  • Foster and close new clients through referrals, cold calling, networking, and other means (tradeshows, regional organizations, etc.)
  • Grow new business from existing clients.
  • Creatively problem solve to improve current new business development strategy.
  • Negotiate terms and pricing with prospective and current clients in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Educate prospective and existing clients regarding our processes, including rates, justification for turnaround time, and competitors’ information.
  • Liaise with operation teams to ensure that all jobs are handled appropriately and with keen attention to detail, resulting in services that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Consistently follow up with clients to ensure their satisfaction with delivery, quality, and client service.
  • Understand language services industries and key competitors including industry leaders, current events, and any other pertinent data.
  • Perform other special projects or duties when required.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Sales, Marketing, or related field.
  • MBA preferred

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a professional environment with client and vendor-facing responsibilities.
  • Experience selling professional language services solutions with a proven track record in achieving annual sales goals in comparable organizations.

  • Strong ability to identify potential clients, develop leads and close business
  • Expert understanding of interpreting and translation processes and best practices

  • Excellent computer skills with experience in MS suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat, among others)
