Business Development Manager – Data Services

As a Business Development Manager, your main role will be to research and detect new business opportunities in order to generate revenue and increase profitability to help the business grow. To succeed in this role, you will develop a network of contacts to attract new clients, stay on top of new market trends and oversee growth projects, making sales projections and forecasting revenue.


– Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives

– Increase the value of current customers while attracting new ones

– Nurture and develop relationships with key customer accounts

– Communicate new product developments to prospective clients

– Report on successes, and detect areas of improvement. Research business opportunities and viable income streams

– Accurately Estimate project efforts and build detailed project timelines

– Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive information, customer expectations, public policy and other market drivers

– Identify and map business strengths and customer needs

– Create development plans and forecasting sales targets and growth projections

– Meet existing and potential clients and build positive relationships



– Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing or related field

– Previous experience in Sales, Marketing and or Data Services companies (desired)

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills – needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as presentation skills

– IT skills, including the use of spreadsheets. Experience working with Atlassian tools and Google workspace

– Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task

– Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty

– Interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients

– Proven ability to negotiate and decision making skills

– Experience with design and implementation of business development strategy

– The ability to self-motivate and motivate a team

– A flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
