One of our top performers is moving to NYC from our Silicon Valley HQ, bringing decades of production experience with her. To complement her skill set, we’re seeking a stellar sales person to enlarge our global footprint to include NYC. She will teach you about localization, and you will show her how you can reel in excellent prospects. Together, you will make compelling proposals to win significant business.

You and she will be supported by our management team as well as our long-established and highly reliable sales and production offices in Boston, Silicon Valley, Europe and Asia.

You need not have experience selling translation services, but you do need to be fantastic in finding and closing sales opportunities. If you happen to already work with a translation company and know of strong colleagues who want to join you and us, we’re glad to meet all of you!

We Sell Professional Services to International Companies

Customers in a wide range of industries need translation services to help communicate with customers in over 100 languages. Therefore, we seek an excellent Business Development Manager to introduce us to potential customers and help us build localization programs for them.

We work with all kinds of companies – from well-established global brands to well-funded startups – specializing in industries whose products have an international user-base (and lots of documentation!).

Your Duties

In general, you will be focused and flexible to do whatever it takes to help our new office thrive, doing the following kinds of things:

  • Find and pursue leads that match our customer profile (i.e., companies with larger translation needs, in and around NYC)
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with decision makers
  • Close new business consistently at or above quota level
  • Proactively generate new opportunities in and around NYC
  • Follow up on inbound opportunities quickly and enthusiastically
  • Produce proposals, developing clever and effective localization solutions
  • Give presentations in person and online
  • Contribute content to blog and social media postings
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for the company

Your Qualifications

  • Business-to-business (B2B) sales experience
  • Success in consistently exceeding sales goals
  • Excellent English communication skills, in writing and speaking
  • Lots of charisma and enthusiasm, with the “gift of gab” to converse meaningfully
  • A powerful and independent work ethic
  • Strong sales habits, including using CRM software and nurturing contacts
  • Superior desktop computing skills
  • Savvy research skills with LinkedIn and other online databases
  • B.A. or B.S. degree
  • Localization/translation industry experience (while not required, this is extremely helpful)
