What is this role?

We are currently looking for an experienced Business Development Director to join our elite team in the Government, Aerospace & Defense division. This position will focus on expanding the sales of our market-leading S1000D content management platform into the Aerospace & Defense sector.  In 2019 they became the enterprise standard for the USAF for S1000D CMS and IETM (Interactive electronic technical manual)  technology. Our Client has also been the long-term standard for the US Navy for this technology. The target market you will be going after will be tier one and tier two defense contractors that supply the USAF, US Navy and other military’s around the world. With the growing demand for “Condition Based Maintenance” (CBM+) solutions, our standards-based digital technical publications play a crucial role in making CBM+ possible. You will be responsible for helping capture this rapidly growing market. In addition to selling our solutions for managing technical publications, you will also be offering our industry leading Neural Machine Translation technology, and Translation Services to aid the sector with language localization, especially valuable for supporting “Foreign Military Sales” (FMS).

Responsibilities:

  • New business development; identify new opportunities for both S1000D content management, and enterprise language technology solutions and services
  • Identify business drivers to associate optimal services and solutions
  • Work closely with Marketing on lead generation activities
  • Involve internal resources as appropriate and manage overall process
  • Work and collaborate with existing and Partners and help develop new Partnerships to provide our customers with complete solutions
  • Deliver revenue growth goals
  • Follow up on pipelines for business expansion
  • Foster strong client relationships
  • Provide appropriate management updates, accurate forecasting and compliance in the use of corporate systems, and solicit feedback and direction when appropriate

Required Skills:
We are looking for applicants who fit the following profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in senior sales leader positions.
  • 5 + years of Aerospace experience in one or more of the following industries: Aviation, Military (aviation, ground, ships) , Space & Satellites, Services – Maintenance Repair and Overhaul, Technical Publications .
  • 2+ years of Industrial Automation and IT-OT Integration technologies experience, and working with key industrial automation vendors
  • 5+ years of practical experience transforming business process, designing and implementing systems at scale with an understanding of the financial implications.
  • 3+ years of technical sales knowledge of common enterprise application and commercial software used across the Aerospace & Defense industry, including ERP/MRP, EDI, Industry 4.0 systems, Program Management, PLM, and MRO systems.
  • Manage Federal Business opportunities websites in both the USA and Canada (example: FedBizOpps.gov) identifying emerging new business opportunities.
    Submit proposals and address related FAR requirements for new business opportunities.
  • Excellent networking skills and deep network of contacts within the sector.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in order to present and sell Solutions.
  • Demonstrate and articulate strategic rationale and logical flow when communicating both verbally and in written form
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic and charismatic personality with polished presentation skills
  • Skilled in the development of formal proposals, including market sector RFI, RFP responses
  • Ability to travel as needed; up to 60%
  • Ability to work remotely with appropriate home office environment
  • US Citizenship required (due to customer security requirements)
