Marcia Sweezey, Localization Recruitment Consultant

Marcia was a pioneer in localization, among one of the first to define internationalization guidelines and to measure their impact on localization in terms of time, cost and quality. Since those early days, Marcia worked as a localization project manager, translation manager, sales representative, account manager and program manager, always discovering and applying innovations — tools, technology, process — to localization practices with the goal of providing the best results to clients while lowering costs for producers. Client work experience includes Teradata, Aprimo and Amazon.

Most recently, as a localization product manager, Marcia successfully introduced machine translation to the localization workflow of Amazon’s seller division and taught internationalization best practices to developers and writers. Marcia co-authored one of the first published books in internationalization, editing the works of other authors, and published multiple articles on the subject of localization as well as presenting at localization conventions.
