Manager of Localization Project/Program Managers (LPgM manager)

About the Role

The localization Team is Seeking an experienced manager to lead our Localization Program Management (LPgM) team. This role will be directly responsible for ensuring that localization needs of the Companies’ Product, Brand, Marketing, Regional, and Operational teams are well supported for their growing needs. Interested candidates should have a proven track record of high quality localization project/program management experience, people management experience, a passion for the Companies’ vision and mission, and great attention to details.

What You’ll Do

  • Performance manage a team of LPgMs including (but not limited to): oversight of day-to-day operations, holding 1:1s & coaching individuals, setting vision & OKRs, handling resource allocation to optimize for business needs
  • Ensure LPgM team can manage end-to-end localization of company products across all supported languages, from initial planning & consultation, to delivery of localized content, LQAs, and bug routing
  • Act as the primary localization manager point of contact for all cross-functional stakeholders related to the LPgM team
  • Develop & maintain key relationships with stakeholder managers and leadership
  • Identify tool & process gaps LPgM team is facing and work with localization operations and engineering teams to enable support
  • Work closely with localization vendors to ensure scalable processes are in place

What You’ll Need

  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of localization project/program management experience in high-tech industry on the client side (multiple content types)
  • Great understanding of localization and internationalization issues
  • Experience using CAT tools as an LPgM to manage localization pipeline & workflows (e.g. Smartling, Idiom WorldServer, Memsource, and Trados)
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, work independently and be able to chart direction of projects/programs for LPgM team
  • Strong analytical and problem solving experience, coupled with excellent business judgment
  • Very detail-oriented, quality-focused and proactive
  • Ability to quickly switch perspective from macro to micro, from high level vision to task level execution so that LPgMs can be guided on their OKRs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple and diverse stakeholders across businesses and leadership levels
  • Ability to learn new tools/systems quickly
  • Excellent team player
  • Travel to regions to manage relationships
